Introducing the Devotional Collection

We invite you to enter the world of bridal seen through the eyes of Mara Hoffman. Intended to be worn by the free spirited devotees of love. Inspired by the idea of the spontaneous bride running off to be married by the sea, barefoot in the desert, or under a canopy in the woods.

All blessings, all love, all light…

Artist Inspiration: Wangechi Mutu

Wangechi Mutu

Wangechi Mutu’s intricate and other-worldly work has been an inspiration in the Mara Hoffman office for a while now so we are stoked that her show, “A Fantastic Journey”, is showing at the Brooklyn Museum from October through March! Wangechi comes to us from Nairobi, Kenya and her global background is evident in her trippy and borderline dark pieces that combine found materials, magazine cutouts, sculpture, and paint. We love collages, as I’m sure you know, and Wangechi’s collages are beyond. “A Fantastic Journey” brings together more than fifty pieces of her work, including large-scale collages, never before seen sketches, sculptural installations, and videos. Get over there and check it out!

Here are a few of our favorite pieces. If you are in the NYC area you should definitely pop in and grab a little inspiration!

Jungle Girl

Don’t we all wish we could grow up in the jungle, be best friends with a cheetah, and ride an elephant around all day? Well this little girl has lived the dream. Tippi Degre is a French girl who was born in Namibia in 1990 and grew up in Africa with her photographer parents Sylvie Robert and Alain Degre. She spent her entire childhood playing with lion cubs, mongooses, snakes, elephants, cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, and crocodiles in the African wild. Sylvie and Alain captured her childhood in beautiful photographs and published them in a book called “Tippi of Africa.”
